We know trusting someone with your pets is a big decision. Here are answers to some common questions before booking

Pricing & Policies
How do I request a booking?
We have broken it down into three easy steps:
First - create account/profile for your pet & upload vaccine records
Second - submit request for the services your pet requires. We will review & check our availability
Third - if booking confirmation is recieved, that will lead you to paying your invoice. Once services are paid, you are booked!
What happens after I submit a request?
Our team at Gentle Pets will review your request & see if we are able to accommodate your pet care needs.
We will send you a email regarding confirmation & an email regarding your invoice.
How far in advance should I book?
For holiday services please book at least 7 days in advance. You should book in advance atleast 24 hours otherwise.
The 24 hours in advance is necessary for our staff to be able to review your request, confirm & recieve payment before services.
What vaccinations are required?
Rabies is the only vaccine that is required for services.
If you want your dogs to be able to socialize with others on their walks, they will need to have a Distemper & Bordetella vaccine on file
How do I provide home access?
Access codes can be given over the phone.
Keys will need to be picked up by Gentle Pets' staff.
Keys can be picked up during our free meet & greet consultation or Gentle Pets can schedule a time to come by & pickup the key for a fee.
When is payment due?
Payment is due 24 hours before your first scheduled service unless otherwise discussed with Gentle Pets staff.
If payment is not recieved by atleast 24 hours prior, your services are subject to cancellation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Services can be cancelled for free anytime 24 hours prior to services.
If services are cancelled after the 24 hour mark a 50% cancellation fee may apply.
Services scheduled on holidays will need to be cancelled at least 7 days prior to services to avoid 50% cancellation fees.
Are there weekend & holiday surcharges?
Weekend & holiday rates apply during select peak dates and major holidays due to increased demand and limited availability.
10% for both weekend & holiday services
Do you charge for additional pets?
Yes, additional pet fees may apply depending on the type of care, visit & length number of pets in the household.
Our cat & dog drop-in services already include a pet fee for both cat & dog care. For all other services, additional pets will need to be added on.
Do you charge each time for key drops?
For each key pickup & return that Gentle Pets has to schedule & transport we do charge a $5 fee
Pet Care
Do you offer meet & greets?
Yes! We highly recommend Meet & Greets! It gives us & your family the time to get to know each other & feel confident that we work well together.
What type of pets do you care for?
Dogs & Cats
Small exotics such as rodents, reptiles & fish may be accepted upon request
Do you care for pets with medical needs?
Absolutely! Our drop-in services are perfect for senior pets who need daily medication or special needs pets who require a little more.
We offer medication administration services & can tailor our care to your pets health needs
We highly recommended having a Meet & Greet for our more health restrictive pets so we can learn more about their history, needs & other important details.
Do you administer medication?
Medication administration can be added to any of our primary services for an additional per-pet fee.
Our ability to give medications is subject to your pets temperment & the safety for both the pet & the provider.
What happens during a drop-in visit?
We will feed & provide fresh water for your pets. All pet supplies are owner provided.
We will give potty breaks for canines & clean litterboxes for felines.
A playtime with be provided for enrichment & exercise.
Photo updates can be provide upon owner request.
Do you provide updates during visits?
Absolutley! We send home report cards after each of our visits to let you know how everything went.
For the owners who want a little more, we offer photo updates upon request!
What if my pet is anxious or shy?
At Gentle Pets, our goal is to create a calm, stress-free experience for every pet in our care.
We approach each furry friend with patience, compassion & respect for their individual comfort levels. We never force pets into situations that cause fear or discomfort & always prioritize building trust at their pace.

What areas do you serve?
Gentle Pets proudly serves Manhattan, Kansas. Our exclusivity allows us to provide premium care for pets & their families we serve.
Do you offer overnight stays?
At this time, Gentle Pets does not offer overnight house sitting services.
However, we do offer additional drop-in visits & add-ons to main services to better tailor care to your pet's needs.
What are water excursions?
Water excursions are outdoor adventure walks that may include supervised swimming or playtime at or around local rivers, lakes or pet-friendly water areas.
This service can be tailored too! Let us know what you are looking for when booking!
Do you bathe pets after any services?
Gentle Pets does not currently offer bathing or grooming services.
We recommend rinsing or bathing pets after water excursions depending on the environment & your pet’s coat type.
Do you provide services while others are present?
Most services are provided while owners are away, but we do care for pets with owners that have limitations. Contact us if this may be you & we can discuss your pet care needs!
Due to safety reasons, Gentle Pets does not offer movie nights if any others are in the home.
Contact Gentle Pets if others may be in the home during services to see if we can accommodate your pet care needs.
Are movie nights exclusive to evenings?
Currently we are offering our movie nights exclusively in the evenings.
If we need to make adjustments for your pet's needs please contact us!
Any differences between drop-in services?
The Daily Drop-in service is for a once daily visit - you decide what time we check on your pet.
- This service is great for those who work early/late or will be out of town for the day
The Twice Daily Drop-ins service is for twice daily visits - morning & evening.
- This service is great for those who are going out of town for a longer period of time or for owners who need help caring for their pets
Safety & Trust
What happens if there is an emergency?
In case of an emergency, Gentle Pets will attempt to contact you & your designated emergency contact.
If veterinary care is required, we may seek care on your behalf. See Gentle Pets agreement for details.
We highly recommend filling out emergency contact information & preferred veterinarian when setting up your profiles in case of emergencies.
How is home access handled?
Clients may provide access through lockboxes, garage codes, smart locks or key exchanges. Home access details are kept confidential and used only for scheduled services.
For the safety & security of both our clients & staff, Gentle Pets strongly recommends that homes remain secured & that keys are not left unattended outdoors. Clients who choose alternative access arrangements acknowledge that Gentle Pets is not liable for any resulting loss, theft or property damage.
What if someone has access to my home during services?
For safety & liability reasons, we ask clients to inform us if others may access the home during scheduled visits.
We will have to assess safety & see if we can accomadate your pet care needs.
A waiver will need to be signed & Gentle Pets is not responsible for incidents involving third-party access outside service periods.
Can you accommodate reactive or high-energy pets?
Yes, we understand that every pet has unique needs & personalities. We strive to provide patient, personalized care while maintaining safe & comfortable interactions for both pets & providers.
In case of reactive pets, please give us more detailed information on their reactivity and triggers in your pet's profile.
